Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time at the National junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three golds In 1973 and 1974, she was all-around junior champion. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion at her first senior international event in the year 1975. In this event she took home four golds as well as a silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first female to do an backward double salto to perform an unmounting from barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began appearing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment during her teens. She began her career as model skater with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. The show featured dramatized ice skating performance.
