April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July, began taking lessons on piano and guitar at seven years old. The passion for songwriting was awakened. at the age of 12, April came up with her first original song Different. She spent lots of time when she was 14 making songs and practicing the piano. After that, she started taking trips to write with father, who lived in NY and LA. April also began to include different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with such things as bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart is also gaining a growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger as well as a spokesperson for the popular clean beauty company Ilia. She was born with no left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not hide her disability but doesn't focus solely on it. It's a message. that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and we're greater than the physical person we are. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't intend to become an influencer where that's all I talk about because there are other aspects to me Lockhart speaks via video from her residence in Nashville. This doesn't interfere with my everyday life. It's all normal, and I have learned to make adjustments. Because it's my identity It's a topic worth talking about. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. Still she admits she's gone through phases of her body and sometimes not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes which showed off her arms. She is able to wear anything she likes, and proudly shares photos of her dressed in her favorite outfits. The self-love she talks about is a journey. It's not clear whether you'll get to the end. However, I believe that's the case for everyone, whatever they are struggling with. It's my opinion that having those with you who understand you and can see your heart is really important as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you concerned about?
