When I had a baby at my side and other children in the cradle, I would work 12 hour shifts grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! The house was starting to look nice, but there was a lot left. For furnishing the space would take a lot of effort with regards to time and money. Also, I had go to my favorite stores. To stay within the budget, I started going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Our routine was of walking around garage sales and auctions on the weekend and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. My work days were spent on the drive painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I got my passion to restore. When our house was furnished, I still couldn't give up! There was a place at the local markets where I would sell my pieces. Eventually, I had too lots of pieces to keep in the space available. My home was where I started hosting open houses in which more than 1000 people could come in to purchase anything they liked on the 1st floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days is the result of this. Growing Days wasn't just an extremely successful company, it was also my sweet family. I was balancing the demands between what it took starting a business while also being a mommy. Growing Days seemed like the perfect fit. My sweet Nora came into the world in 2013 and was our fourth child. My business was booming however I needed a break. I took a break from creating furniture for vintage homes, and I slowed down my speed and stayed at home to take care of the kids. That was precisely the thing I needed. After a while, off the phone started to call. I was getting calls from people seeking help for their interior decorating and home remodeling. The majority of people who contacted me came from people who visited my home at one of my furniture open house events. As I went along I began adding clients to my list in a series of. It wasn't too long before I had many clients and operated a profitable home improvement business. You would probably have made me laugh if I had told you that it would be the foundation of the DIY Network tv series. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall it.
