Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most popular actors. She is known as a strong actress who are also at risk. Born to a famous playwright's father, and raised by a single mother who worked in the field of nursing, she began to take an interest in theater while spending summers with her father then pursuing acting studies, initially in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway soon after graduation, she debuted in films within two years, and then on television following a year. Her appearances have been in a variety of movies, television shows and stage productions since then. In her long professional career, she's received numerous awards. These include the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. However, in spite of numerous awards acting has been her first love and she continues to perform both on screen and on stage.
